Water Babies

www.waterbabies.co.uk

Water Babies teaches you to teach your baby to swim.  You’ll find that a Water Babies course is very different to traditional swimming lessons. With the main emphasis on having fun, the course is also highly structured, with a carefully designed, progressive lesson plan for each of the 40 weeks.

A the end of every term there will be a Water Babies photo shoot in your area. Working with our specially trained in-house team (which includes some of the UK’s most experienced, award-winning underwater photographers) we like to make a bit of an event of it. We love doing shoots, and our aim is to create a relaxed and happy environment that will get you that fabulous shot of your baby swimming underwater.

Monkhouse Granary has been hosting viewings for photographs taken during Water Babies photoshoots over the past year.  Parents have enjoyed the private venue and the homemade biscuits!

Free Event from Business Partners UK

An interactive & informative event at Monkhouse Granary.

SCPR – Gold Star Training Services:

SCPR regularly run their popular plain English training courses at Monkhouse Granary near Shrewsbury.

Course Dates:

  • Wednesday 29th September, 10.00am – 4.00pm

The cost is £150 plus VAT for the day. If two or more people attend from the same organisation, the price is £125 per person plus VAT.

The one-day course covers the following points during the morning session:

  • the reasons for plain English
  • understanding the different target groups (disabled people, black and minority ethnic people, young and older people)
  • basic problems – long words, long sentences, confused meaning
  • basic grammar

The afternoon session brings all these into play with an exercise designed to build up editing skills. This is a popular part of the course and helps demonstrate how long words, long and passive sentences and surplus information can have an impact on the readability of a passage.

The second part of the afternoon session answers some common questions: how to use a colon, when to use capital letters, use of the apostrophe and so on.
